Kate Young - Trainer at Fido's Finest Dog Training

Malintzin Camara is a dedicated canine behavior specialist and passionate advocate for animals, whose love for dogs has been a driving force throughout her life. From a young age, she has demonstrated a profound connection with animals, with an enduring love for learning and teaching. A graduate of The Animal Behavior Institute, Mal holds certification as a Canine Training and Behavior Specialist (CCTBS). Her background includes being a lifetime Girl Scout and a Gold Award Recipient, which underscores her leadership skills and dedication to community service. Her creative spirit and extensive experience in volunteer work, including earning a Presidential Service Award for over 500 hours of service in one year, have shaped her holistic and compassionate approach to dog training and behavior.

Mal’s diverse experiences range from nannying and tutoring to student teaching, particularly with special needs children. She excels at merging her skills to create individualized lessons and goals, offering creative solutions tailored to each client and their dog’s unique needs. She also has a solid foundation and background in mental health, which enriches her approach to training and interpersonal relationships. All of these experiences have honed her communication and people skills and highlighted her love for connection and community. With a client-first approach, she recognizes the psychological impact of working with dogs and uses her skills to help clients reap those rewards and experience the emotional gratification that comes from training and growing with your dog.

Building off her life of community and service, her mission is to ensure that both owners and dogs live without limitations. Having studied the teachings of trainers such as Karen Pryor, Brenda Aloff and Ian Dunbar, she is deeply committed to a lifetime of learning and improving her skills as a dog trainer. Her continuing studies have been fundamental in her ability to enrich the lives of her clients and their dogs by respecting natural behaviors and instincts using positive reinforcement.

Currently residing in The Colony with her fiancé Patrick and their Great Dane mix, Willow, Mal is actively involved in her long-time dog park group, a group of friends who became family, through the community she cultivated. It was through this group that she realized the power of fostering a sense of community and the significance of socialization for dogs and their owners. Mal’s passion for dogs, combined with her experience and dedication, drives her to make a meaningful impact in the lives of her clients and their canine companions.
